So I’m an Android guy. Anyone that knows me, knows that.
I jumped on the iPhone bandwagon when it first came out. I had an iPhone 1, 2, 3 and 4. After the 4 I went to Android and never looked back.
Well, I am issued an iPhone at work, so I do still have to use one. I’m not on call in the evenings or on the weekends, so I’m only using it during the day when I’m working.
So when I wake up in the morning, I grab my phone, press the power button, and guess what?… The screen turns on!!
If i press the power button again, guess what happens?… The screen turns off!!
What a concept!
Now today I was trying to make a call and it kept failing, so I wanted to reboot the phone to reset my mobile connection. So I pressed and held the power button.
I waited…. And waited… And waited… And absolutely nothing happened…
Tried again with the same results…
Thinking for sure the case was preventing the button from being fully pressed, I removed all the pieces of the case, and pressed and held the power button. And waited… And waited… And waited…
Absolutely nothing happened….
So now I’m convinced the phone is in a half-crashed state and needs to be hard rebooted. So I’m googling how to hard restart, and notice a post that says to power off the phone, you not only press the power button, but also a volume button.
Of course! Why didn’t I see that?
When I want to turn off my TV, I press the power button AND the volume button.
When I want to turn off my stereo, I press the power button AND the volume button.
And when I want to turn off my computer I press the power button AND the volume button.
So why didn’t I guess that to turn off my iPhone, I needed to press the power button AND the volume button?
Fucking iPhone. I hate it 1000 times more now.
